We are a group of cloth doll makers who meet once a month in Farnborough, Hampshire. There is a range of abilities, but we are all enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills, as well as practice old ones. It's a very friendly and low key environment in which to learn and craft, and while we do that we drink tea, eat donuts and discuss a wide range of topics.

Mavis the Winner!

Mavis's Chess Set won it’s category (“Quilt Creations”) at the Festival of Quilts, which was at the NEC, Birmingham, from 6th to 9th August. A very nice certificate and a cash prize. 20,000 visitors were expected this year, at this prestigious annual show for quilters and stitchers of all persuasions. "The attention that the chess set attracted is very gratifying, and it has been a very enjoyable experience " says Mavis. The set goes on tour to the Knitting and Stitching Shows at Harrogate and Alexandra Palace, and possibly Dublin. " I won’t get it back until the end of November" says Mavis.

Here are some pictures that Mavis shared of her experience and her amazing chess set at the Festival of Quilts

Last week Jenny brought in her completed Geisha doll. She is a quick worker. I have not even started on mine yet. This is her beautiful doll. The pattern is by Sally Brockbank one of our very talented members.

Ann attended a class with Ankie Daanen and made this paper clay doll. She is a beauty indeed.
The dragon is a pattern by Melinda Patterson. What an awesome dragon and look at the beautiful colours of the fabric. What a fabulous dragon.
